Joan M. Nass of Acton is serving her first term in the Maine House of Representatives.  She has been appointed to the Legislature’s Joint Standing Committee on Judiciary.  She represents District 144 - Acton, part of Lebanon and part of Sanford.

Representative Nass received her B.S. from the University of Arizona in 1965. She is a retired educator in the Sanford school system.

Representative Nass is active in the community, where she belongs to several organizations including the Lions Club and the Southern Maine Gardening Club.  She is also a member of the York County Community Action Committee.  She is a member of Notre Dame Church in Springvale, Maine.  Rep. Nass and her husband, State Senator Richard Nass, have two children.
